Wind turbines

Wind turbines are devices that generate electricity from wind. The rotational energy of the rotor is transmitted to the generator, which converts it into electricity, and then sends to the power todevices or collects surplus in batteries. This creates a electricity without consuming natural resources - wind kinetic energy is converted into electrical energy. Rated power of domestic wind turbines varies between 0.5 kW and 10 kW and depends mainly on the type and size of the device. The most common household wind turbines in our country we can include turbines with horizontal axis (HAWT- horizontal - axis wind turbine) and power between 1 kW and 5 kW. The amount of energy that can be producedby such a system depends not only on the Polish region but also on local conditions such as shading by buildings or trees forming the cover from the wind and causing turbulence that reduce the effectiveness of the device. Therefore, the solution is the most effective in the open space. Domestic wind turbines operate in the range of wind speeds between 4 and 25 m/s at the optimum is about 16m/s. Instalment of  the 1kWpower can produce between 1500 and 2500 kWh per year depending on the wind conditions. In case of signing the contract with the power supplier for its reception can sell surplus energy. In case of luck of such an agreement the simplest solution is to connect the turbine to the additional heater in the heating system and thus reheating water for heatingpurpose or water. Noteworthy is the fact that in contrast to the solar collectors during the winter time energy production is higher than in summer, thanks to frequent more frequent and stronger winds. Electricity production 70% is delivered in the cold period, as from the point of view of the consumer is a desirable phenomenon. There is also the possibility of using electricity for own needs. Essential in this case are the batteries of high capacity for energy storage for a period of no wind. To store the required amount of energy for a few days the battery capacity of 10 to 30 kWh are needed.Which requires considerable financial outlays. In 2016 the price of power bank produced by TESLA (power walls) with a capacity of 10kWh amounted to 3.5 thousand. Dollars, but price reductions in the near futureshould expect.
