An interior is not just a collection of functions or a decorative composition. It is a space that has the ability to touch us – subtly, but undeniably. It has a scent, a temperature, a sound. It has a memory. Interior design is about creating a setting for everyday life that does not dominate, but soothes, envelops, and calms.
“Atmosphere is what makes architecture alive. It is what touches our senses before we even begin to understand it.”
— Peter Zumthor
There is no room for random gestures in this project. Material, light, and proportion create a space that is more of a backdrop than a protagonist. A place where the lives of household members become the most important thing.
Another minimalist project worth exploring is called Into the Wild.
The interior of a house in Kamień Pomorski is a carefully thought-out continuation of architecture, combining inspiration from the local context with a modern approach to space. From the very threshold, the house introduces us to a world where the landscape becomes the main feature – calm, undisturbed, present in every frame.
The day, night, and entrance areas are clearly arranged in relation to the building, allowing for intuitive movement through the space. The structure features a lot of glazing, which gives the house transparency and breathability – the glass not only illuminates the interior but also allows nature to become its integral part.
The materials used in the interior are balanced and carefully selected. Naturally colored wood dominates the furniture, introducing warmth and coziness to this space. As for the kitchen island, the material breaks the softness of wood with its austerity, which brings order to the interior. The concrete used on the floor gives the space uniformity and elegant simplicity.
The color palette is limited but not monotonous – it oscillates around earth tones: beiges, grays, and wood shades create a calm, harmonious environment. Textiles – curtains, carpets, upholstery – complete the composition, introducing subtlety and softness that balances the simplicity of materials. Every element has its place here, nothing is accidental – the interior design follows the idea of consistency and calm.
A special accent in the interior is the way light is used. During the day, the space changes dynamically – light penetrates through the glazing, reflects in the water, and glides across surfaces. In the evening, thanks to hidden lighting and reflections from outside, the house takes on an almost intimate character – as if it were immersed in the rhythm of nature. The interior does not dominate or impose itself – it is a stage on which the lives of household members take place.
It is a space designed with sensitivity and respect for the place where it was created. Full of silence, light, and focus. A house not only for living – but also for existing.
