Retreat close to nature

“Architecture is the art of creating space that touches the senses and emotions.”

— Peter Zumthor

Can architecture be more than just a form? Can it become an experience – a moment that sticks in your memory like a smell of forest after rain, like warmth of sun rays on your skin? Creating space is not only a game of matter, light and function – it is building an atmosphere that moves us and stays with us for a long time.

Designing in this spirit is a process of calming down, rejecting unnecessary stimuli, so that what is essential – light, proportion, rhythm, material – can fully resonate. Every detail, every texture matters. It was this intention that became the main theme of this project.

The Siedlisko project is an example of a holistic approach to design – we were responsible for both the architecture and house interiors. From the very first sketches, it was crucial for us to connect the house with its unique surroundings – the plot, located by a lake and surrounded by greenery, inspired us to create a place that subtly blends into the landscape and becomes its natural extension. If you are interested in projects immersed in nature, check out the House in the Orchard project.

The layout of this house is based on a clear division of functions – the living area, including the kitchen, dining room, and living room, flows smoothly into the terrace and opens up to the lake. Three bedrooms and a master bedroom with a private bathroom are located in the sleeping area. The design is complemented by a carport and a utility room.

The dominant materials in the design are natural wood and stone in shades of gray – their combination creates a noble, subdued backdrop for everyday life. Concrete floors contrast with soft furniture upholstery and carpets. The high ceiling with exposed beams gives the interior a unique character, thus making it an indispensable element.

Large windows open the living area to a view of the lake – every step in the living room, kitchen, or dining room allows you to feel the calmness of water and the rhythm of surrounding nature. The spacious terrace, which is a natural extension of the living room, blurs the boundaries between the interior and exterior, allowing you to fully enjoy the charms of this place. Siedlisko is a project rooted in the landscape, based on a conscious reduction of form and a focus on the relationship with nature. Its restrained architecture and atmospheric interiors create a coherent whole – a house that does not dominate, but becomes part of this place.
