“For me, architecture is always about creating an atmosphere, spaces that move us – places that remain in our memory.”
— Peter Zumthor

Interior design is not just about arranging functions, it is about creating experiences. It is about building a space that resonates with everyday life, responds to needs, but also appeals to our senses – either through light, proportions, textures, or through silence. In a world of excess, true luxury lies in the economy of form, careful selection of materials, and conscious use of natural light. This philosophy became the foundation of this project.
In the suburbs, where the landscape gradually thins out, transitioning from urban to natural, a house was built that was designed holistically – both in its structure and interiors – with a view to living in harmony with the rhythm of the day and the seasons. The two-story building is located in a peaceful green setting, and its balanced form and subdued colors refer to the idea of contemporary simplicity with respect for the context of its location.
The ground floor is an open living space – the kitchen, dining room, and living room flow smoothly into one another, creating a single, coherent whole. The functional layout provides maximum openness and contact with garden – the living area opens onto a spacious terrace, and the whole is illuminated by large windows, letting soft, diffused light into the interior. The dominant feature is a massive kitchen island made of natural stone – it serves both a functional and sculptural role. It is complemented by a relaxation area with a fireplace encased in dark brick, which adds depth and texture to the interior. The characteristic ceiling with its geometric layout attracts attention, creating a strong, spatial accent.
The upper floor is a private area – bedrooms, bathrooms, and utility rooms subject to the daily rhythm of the household.
Interiors are dominated by natural materials: warm wood, raw brick, natural hand-hewn stone, and concrete in delicate gray tones. The focal point of kitchen is an island – a massive, sculptural monolith of stone with a distinct pattern, fitting in with the artistic character of the entire project.
The color palette is based on earth tones: grays, browns, and beiges, which, combined with natural textures, create an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. The light, present here throughout the day, emphasizes the depth of materials and changes the character of interior with the time of day.
It is a minimalist space, but full of details. Well-thought-out, yet with artistic freedom – allowing for respite, contemplation, and everyday functioning in beautiful surroundings.
The presence of art can be felt here – not only as decoration, but also as an integral part of the architectural narrative.
