Field House is formed by two connected barns. In one of them, we located a spacious master bedroom with a private bathroom and wardrobe, utility rooms, and a garage. The other barn houses a spacious living area with access to a mezzanine and children’s rooms, which are separated from the living room by a glass connector, where we designed a winter garden. Thanks to the natural light flowing down the stone wall, the plants grow upwards and subtly decorate the interior. One of the ideas was also to expose the wooden structure in the house in order to emphasize the natural materials and multi-generational carpentry tradition.
Please take a look at the FIELD HOUSE / interiors.
Despite its large area, the house is not overwhelming in size. This is all due to the division into two buildings, which makes the form more subtle. In the living area, we used a “break” in the structure, where we planned a glass connector. This divides the house functionally, while giving it lightness and allowing greenery to penetrate the building.
The simple and effective functional layout is crowned by an elegant facade made of dark brick, complemented by slate roofing. Our favorite glazing has also found its place in this project, opening up the living room, dining room, and kitchen to the surrounding greenery and light entering the interior. The house is located on a plot of several dozen hectares, surrounded by fields, forests, and a natural pond. The silence, tranquility, and undisturbed landscape create the perfect backdrop for architecture that blends in with its surroundings rather than competing with them. The lack of neighbors in the immediate vicinity allows to fully experience the closeness of nature and the harmony of this place.
